Traceability
Responsible tungsten
SPT’s tungsten operation is fully conformant against Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) which validates smelters’ management systems and sourcing practices to meet the requirement of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance, the Regulation (EU) 2017/821 of the European Parliament and the U.S. Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
SPT implemented a robust due diligence process and manages an internal CoC framework that guarantees complete traceability and accountability across its tungsten supply chain.
The system is meticulously designed to align with internationally recognized standards, reflecting SPT’s commitment to responsible sourcing as well as highest levels of integrity, compliance and transparency.
Sourcing from Conflict Affected and High-Risk Area (CAHRA's)
OECD definition of conflict-affected and high-risk areas: Conflict-affected and high-risk areas are identified by the presence of armed conflict, widespread violence or other risks of harm to people. Armed conflict may take a variety of forms, such as a conflict of international or non-international character, which may involve two or more states, or may consist of wars of liberation, or insurgencies, civil wars, etc. High-risk areas may include areas of political instability or repression, institutional weakness, insecurity, collapse of civil infrastructure and widespread violence. Such areas are often characterised by widespread human rights abuses and violations of national or international law.
SPT exclusively sources its tungsten raw materials from EU based supppliers and therefore is not purchasing from CHARA listed countries.
Grievance Policy
SPT is committed to conducting business in accordance with the law and the highest ethical standards. In line with our Code of Business of Conduct, the implementation of Grievance Policy further supports the following principles:
We ensure that grievances and complaints will be addressed in a timely, transparent, accessible and equitable manner.
We ensure fair and objective investigation of grievances and complaints identified, based on facts or reliable evidence.
We will make every effort to ensure that the whistle-blower and all interested parties are protected against any reprisal, discrimination or other adverse employment consequences – excluding compliance with the law and disciplinary rules.
All interested parties are encouraged to voice to SPT any concerns regarding misconduct, wrongdoing or any identified risk within our supply chain at the earliest opportunity with a view to them being fully investigated by the appropriate authority.
